Jeff Lisandro wins WSOPE £5,250 PLO

Sunday, 19 September 2010

With four WSOP titles already under his belt we knew that Jeff Lisandro was a tasty stud player. He's now shown that he's pretty handy at Omaha too after collecting bracelet number five in the WSOPE £5,250 PLO event.

15 players returned to the Empire for the final day yesterday with November Niner John Racener heading a top quality field packed with notable names. That 15 was soon whittled down to a final table of nine that included Racener, Jeff Madsen and Felipe Ramos, UK tournament regulars Karl Mahrenholz and Jeff Kimber and six max finalists Chris Bjorin and Willie Tann.

None could match Lisandro though. The Italian born Aussie defeated Joe Serock heads up and pocketed £159,514 for win. Lisandro joins Stu Ungar, Chris Ferguson, Alle Cunningham, Scotty Nguyen, Ted Forrest and Gary Berland in an exclusive group to have won five WSOP bracelets.

The final table positions and payouts were as follows:

1 Jeffrey Lisandro £159,514
2 Joe Serock £98,262
3 Willie Tann £71,184
4 Jeff Madsen 52,542
5 John Racener £39,486
6 Karl Mahrenholz £30,192
7 Felipe Ramos £23,478
8 Jeff Kimber £18,564
9 Chris Bjorin £14,916
