Jeff Kimber had a lucrative weekend after triumphing in the PKR Live main event over Dan O'Callaghan heads-up to bank £11,248.
Sponsored by PKR and held at Aspers Casino in London, the main event featured a healthy 178 players each paying the $500 buy-in.A mixture of PKR pros including Scott Shelley and Sofia Lovgren joined online qualifiers for the three-day tournament, which had a mixed-max final session that saw players compete in a series of heads-up matches with the winner of each moving forward. When the dust settled it was Grosvenor Poker Pro Kimber and O'Callaghan who were left vying for the title, with the latter initially dominating and running into a four-to-one chip lead. However, a resilient Kimber dug in his heels and reversed the deficit before the pair agreed to speed up the action by setting the blind levels at 30 minutes.By now, Kimber had moved into the lead and went on to scoop the final pot and clinch the latest PKR Live title after getting his money all-in with pocket aces on the final hand.
