Jason Tompkins leads UKIPT Dublin final table

Monday, 12 September 2011

The massive field of 718 players at the PokerStars UKIPT Dublin event has been whittled down to a final table of eight with Jason Tompkins holding the chip lead with almost twice the average stack. The big story at the final, however, is a man named Max Silver.

Last year, Postman Pat look-alike Silver bested a field of 590 to ship the first prize of €72,000 as well as securing himself a spot in the UKIPT Champion of Champions event. Now he has made his second consecutive UKIPT Dublin final table, albeit arriving here as the shortstack but with a still plentiful 23 big blinds.
This year the field has been smashed with an extra 128 players competing for the 2011 UKIPT Dublin title. This means the first prize this year is a little more tasty, also – should Silver win it again he’ll have beaten his €72,000 score by more than €11,000. He will also be one of only three players to have defended their PokerStars live event title alongside Jason Mercier and Vanessa Selbst.

The final table seating assignments and chip counts are as follows:
1. Jason Tompkins – 2.388m
2. Max Silver – 699k
3. Rory Curtis – 725k
4. Charles Fabian – 1.023m
5. Joeri Zandvliet – 1.835m
6. David Docherty – 958k
7. Noel O’Brien – 1.991m
8. Robert Csire – 1.145m
