Ivey’s New Pro

Friday, 21 December 2012

With just four days to go until Christmas, Phil Ivey has added another proverbial bauble to his festive tree of poker talent.

Having recently signed the likes of John Eames, Josh Brikis and Matt Gianetti, Phil has now drafted in tournament expert Mike “GoLeafsGoEh” Leah. Dividing his time equally between online and live tournaments, Leah has managed to bank $3 million in winnings with his largest outright win coming back in 2009 in Borgata.

Hailing from Canada, the 37 year old has an impressive online CV that contains a 3rd place finish in 2011’s WCOOP Main Event for $663,816 and a total of more the $2.3 million in cashes.

According to his bio on IveyPoker.com, Leah was a national wrestling champion before finding poker and his favourite games are “Limit Hold’em, Razz, any game you can only min raise is the shizzle”.

After being announced as the latest member of the site’s pro team, Leah took to Twitter to address his fellow Ivey protégés and fans.

@GoLeafsGoEh: “@philivey @JBrikis Thrilled to be part of such an awesome team! Can't wait for 2013; happy holidays everyone :) #TeamIvey”
