Ivey maintains Aussie Millions challenge

Wednesday, 25 January 2012

Day two of the Aussie Millions Main Event is in the book and there's a very familiar face near the top of the leader board. Phil Ivey closed the day with 778,500 chips, good enough to put him second in the chip counts behind Tim O'Shea who amassed 921,000.

Also in the top ten were Aage Ravn 708,500, Jason Koon 667,500, Patrick Healy 521,00 and Briton Rob Angood on 470,500. The Londoner has already enjoyed his trip Down Under with a third place finish in the Aussie Millions opener which earned him over $82,000 but will be eyeing something much bigger this weekend.

Notable names who won't be back include Tom 'Durrrr' Dwan, Tony G and Annette Obrestad who all hit the rail today.

The 74 survivors will be aiming for a first prize of AU$1.6m (£1.08m) with the min cash set at AU$15,000 (£10,140). Two of the day three starters are set to go home disappointed though with the bubble bursting at 72.
