Isildur1 takes lead in $1 million Superstar Showdown

Monday, 2 April 2012

Isaac “philivey2694” Haxton and Viktor “Isildur1” Blom resumed their mega Superstar Showdown last night with Isildur1 extending his lead to have won $281,365 of Haxton’s $500,000 showdown bankroll.

In the first of their four hour sessions, Blom had won $198,438 and continued his heater across the second match. Within the first hour, Isildur1 had gone on a tear to win a total of $331,294 and left Haxton with just over a buy-in on each table.

However, the second hour saw Haxton begin by winning a big coinflip then taking another pot to shave Blom’s lead to $116,850. By hour three and hand 3,000 Blom led by just less than a buy-in; $39,856. This hard work was undone in the final hour, when Blom made two sets and a full house in a series of coolers.

Back up to a $383,000 lead, Blom was dominating before losing a big coinflip and a series of smaller pots to end the four hour session of 1,733 hands to finish with an overall lead of $281,365.

The action resumes at PokerStars at 6pm today, UK time.
