Isildur1 loses over $1m to Ivey and Antonius

Saturday, 21 November 2009

The Swedish mysteryman known only as Isildur1 to the poker world has been once again causing a scene on the high stakes tables at Full Tilt Poker. This time he took on Patrik Antonius and Phil Ivey, losing over a million dollars and the second largest pot in online poker history.

Railbirds were watching intently for the first $1,000,000 online pot as Antonius and Isildur1 played uber-deepstacked on the $500/$1,000 PLO tables with over $600k each in front of them.

However, it was the second-largest pot in history that fans had to settle for - coming less than a week after Isildur1 and Antonius created the largest - when in a 3-bet pot, Isildur1 bet the flop and called Antonius's raise then potted the turn before getting it in on a 3c-4d-Qc-Kd-7d board. The Swede had Q543 double-suited for two pair but Finnish Team Full Tilt member Antonius showed AA56 for the rivered straight. Overall he took just under half a million from Isildur1 in around 2,000 hands.

Phil Ivey was playing the Swede at the same time, clearing a net profit of over $700,000 in just 679 hands. All of the Ivey vs. Isildur1 sessions so far have been incredibly short and we await a lengthy match between the two.

You can follow the action live at Full Tilt Poker.
