Isildur1 ends 2011 on a $500k high

Tuesday, 3 January 2012

Viktor Blom may have been absent for much of 2011 but that hasn't stopped him booking a profit on the year of $1.5m. Around one third of that was added to his bankroll courtesy of Ilari Sahamies in the last big session of the year.

The pair put in over 1,000 hands at the $50/$100 tables over the weekend with the Swede walking away up by almost $500,000. Blom's $1.5m profit for the year is especially impressive given that around $1m of it has been won since the start of December.

Sahamies' losing session dropped his earnings for the year down to $2.1m but that was still good enough to place him second on HighStakesDB.com's 2011 money list behind Gus Hansen who was up a whopping $3.9m for the year.

The full top ten was as follows:

1 Gus Hansen $3,941,703
2 Ilari FIN (Ilari Sahamies) $2,183,832
3 refaelamit $2,105,597
4 jungleman12 (Daniel Cates) $1,952,994
5 NoPasaran $1,875,348
6 Isildur1 (Viktor Blom) $1,472,695
7 Matt Hawrilenko $1,440,095
8 bixiu $1,406,194
9 Jeans89 (Jens Kyllonen) $1,377,019
10 Phil Ivey $1,336,313

Tom Dwan topped the list of 2011 losers, dropping $2,474,309 online last year.
