Monday, 2 November 2009

Online legend Isaac “WestmenloAA” Baron has defeated a tough, 162-strong field and a tougher final table to earn a first-place prize of nearly a quarter of a million dollars in the Caesar’s Palace Classic Main Event.

Despite the presence of veteran tournament pros such as Kathy Liebert and Jimmy Tran at the final table, Baron never relinquished the chip lead that he won eight-handed, going into heads-up play against Michael Benvenuti with a near 5-1 advantage.

Baron has now added this $246,928 first prize from the $5k event to his $3,000,000 in live and online tournament earnings.

The full final table placings and payouts are as follows:

1. Isaac Baron - $246,928
2. Michael Benvenuti - $129,562
3. Glen Chorny - $76,213
4. Alex Keating - $60,970

6. Erik Nomberg - $38,106
7. Theo Tran - $30,485
8. Kathy Liebert - $22,864
