Is US Federal regulation closer than we think?

Renewed hope for US federal legislation of online poker swept the poker community yesterday following Frank Fahrenkopf’s appearance on US TV.

Talking to Jim Ralston of Ralston Reports, the American Gaming Association Chairman explained that we could see a new bill presented to the powerbrokers on Capitol Hill within the next few weeks.

Although he declined to set any specific predictions, he hinted that the recent activity by a number of states, including Delaware, could help bolster federal efforts.

Joe Barton was the Congressman named as the person who would likely take the bill to the relevant powers.

Indeed, while Barton has failed in his attempts to push through federal measures twice in the past, he’s currently “doing a little spadework with the members” to help any potential efforts.
