Ira Rubin pleads guilty to Black Friday charges

Wednesday, 18 January 2012

It’s been a while since Black Friday related news has cropped up, though unfortunately it’s not the 'Full Tilt Poker has our money' announcement that everyone was waiting for. Instead, Ira Rubin has plead guilty to conspiracy.

Rubin allegedly assisted PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker and the Cereus network in processing payments in violation of UIGEA.

He has been imprisoned since his arrest in April 2011, when he was seized in Guatemala.

He is accused to assisting the three major poker sites in deceiving banks, disguising payments as transactions with shell companies online. He faces a prison term of 18 to 24 months when sentenced in Manhatten this May.
