Thursday, 18 October 2012

The International Poker Open, one of the highlights of the Irish tournament calendar, gets under way tomorrow and railbirds will be able to follow all the action courtesy of sponsors Boyle Poker who have revealed details of a live stream, blogs and up to the minute social media updates.

A bumper field of over 1,400 runners is expected at Dublin's Regency Hotel for the €230 buy-in Main Event, with the first of two opening day flights starting tomorrow. A live stream of the feature table will be running throughout both day 1s (Friday and Saturday) and day 2 while the final table, which takes place on November 10, will also be streamed online.

Boyle Poker will be utilising the new EVCount system to power the live updates and collate all chip counts, records bustouts, Tweets, blinds, new players, big hands, news and even feeds streaming commentary.

"We're expecting another really competitive year for the IPO and to match that intensity we've ratcheted up our media coverage and friends, family, fans, players, and punters can get the most up-to-the-minute news and information at the Boylepoker Blog - so drop in to the Regency or drop by the blog and get involved!" said Ciaran Corbett, poker room manager at Boyle's.

There's still a chance to qualify for the tournament itself with 20 seats up for grabs in a €22 Mega Satellite at Boyle Poker that gets under way at 8pm tonight.

The International Poker Open will also form the backdrop for the 2012 Irish Poker Awards which take place on Sunday evening. Neil Channing will be co-hosting the ceremony which gets under way at 8.30pm.
