The Regency Hotel in Dublin will play host to the 2009 International Poker Open from 16th to 18th October 2009. Sponsor BoylePoker has added an extra $25,000 to the prize pool to the $225+$25 buy in event that is expected to attract a bumper field of 1,300 players.

BoylePoker.com has also added an extra wrinkle to the tournament by offering players the opportunity to sit down with an extra 2,000 chips in their starting stack. Players earning 250 online VIP Club Points on BoylePoker.com in August will get 1,000 extra chips for the International Open. A further 1,000 chips are on offer if a player repeats the 250 VIP Points in September.

Paul Spillane, Head of Poker at BoylePoker.com said, “The Boylepoker.com International Poker Open is back and looks set to be bigger and better than ever before. We’ve added $25,000 to the prize pool and, like last year, players can expect a festival atmosphere and a plethora of well-known pros at the event.”

“What makes the event so popular is that it is truly a tournament for all pockets, and with surprises in store like the extra starting chips for players who play at Boylepoker.com during August and September, the event is likely to sell out in well in advance, just like last year.

Ireland’s Ruari Coy won the first prize of €37,530 at last year’s International Open.
