Six amateur poker players have beat out thousands of online competitors to make the final table of the ActionPoker.com $500,000 Poker Shoot-Out.
The players will be representing their countries and their card rooms on December 1 in London, England and will be vying for the largest prize ActionPoker.com has awarded since its inception in 1999.
The players who successfully made the Poker Shoot-Outs final table range in age from 23 to 69-years-old and come from as far away as El Salvador. There will be two players representing Finland, one playing for the UK and two from Canada. All six players qualified through an online freeroll. This will be the first time many of the players have played for high stakes live and they will have the added pressure of playing in front of the TV cameras.
On top of bragging rights for their country and the title 'International Man of Action,' the first place winner will take home $200,000, with the runners up sharing in another $170,000. Additionally, ActionPoker.com is giving the players a taste of the high life, putting each of the players up in central London and ushering them around the city in limousines.
