IPN Bad Beat Jackpot €500k and rising

Friday, 24 September 2010

There will be a very substantial silver lining for one luckless loser on the GTECH International Poker Network (IPN) in the near future. The network's Bad Beat Jackpot has topped the €500,000 mark and will continue to rise until a player loses a hand with quad tens or better.

The unlucky loser will pocket at least €150,000 with every player dealt cards in the crucial hand set to take home a bonus of €10,000. To qualify for the IPN Jackpot players must be playing at a designated Bad Beat table and use both of their hole cards in the winning or losing hand. The losing hand must be quad tens or better and at least four player must be dealt into the hand.

“Losing is bad enough, but losing with a good hand can be painful,” said Tony Ure, Head of Poker Networks at GTECH G2. “The Bad Beat jackpot gives pain relief for everyone at the table!”

The Jackpot is closing in on the IPN record of over €600,000 that was hit in November of last year. One lucky PokerHeaven.com player pocketed €105,254 with the other players at the table taking home a €15,036 bonus.

“I was aware that the jackpot was over €600K. When I lost with such a good hand I immediately left the table to see if I had won,” said the player known as o1nfl1p. “When I realized I had just won over €200,000 I was speechless. The atmosphere at the table when all the players realized we had won the Bad Beat Jackpot was amazing. I’m planning to buy an apartment with some of the winnings and of course I intend to play a lot more poker!”

It's entirely possible that the Bad Beat Jackpot will be struck this weekend. Log on to PokerHeaven.com, Virgin Poker, Virgin Poker, or any other IPN site to be in with a chance of winning large.
