Sometimes the opportunity for punning and wordplay is so perfect that you have to snap it up quick. That’s why we’re so happy we could make the Titanic/poker joke in the headline above when it was revealed that Leonardo DiCaprio is to star in a new poker movie.

While many poker movies have fallen short of expectations, this one is expected to be just as good since the screenplay is being done by Brian Koppelman and David Levien, the same duo behind “Rounders.”


The movie is shrouded in secrecy at the moment as it is in very preliminary stages. An interesting note, however, is that Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet are actually based in Costa Rica, implying that this film could well be a fictionalised documentary of the cheating scandals at the two sites.
