The World Poker Tour has crowned its latest champion after Andy Hwang took the honours at WPT Borgata over the weekend. The Houston-based pro pocketed a first prize of over $730k after outlasting a field of 1,024 runners in Atlantic City.

Hwang started the final table as the chip leader and worked his way through a final six that included former TV producer turned WPT winner Matt Salsberg and Jeremy Druckman.


The 27-year-old sealed victory after beating James Anderson heads up, claiming his biggest tournament score to date when his A6 held against Anderson's 10-8.


The final table positions and payouts were as follows:


1st Andy Hwang  -  $730,053
2nd  James Anderson  -  $438,698
3rd  Mike Gogliormella  -  $265,475
4th  Matt Haugen  -  $222,336
5th  Jeremy Druckman  -  $182,514
6th  Matthew Salsberg  -  $147,671
