Huber leads the way at PokerStars EPT Berlin

Friday, 5 March 2010

It was an elimination packed day at EPT Berlin yesterday with players knocked out at the rate of 10 an hour.

Leading the way when the dust had settled was the Swiss player Stefan Huber who had accumulated a stack of over 1m chips, 300,000 ahead of nearest rival, Team PokerStars Pro Johannes Strassmann. Huber is no stranger to live tournament success recently taking down the $5,000 event at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure for a score of almost $300,000.

A host of big names are still in with a shout though including Irish favourite Jude Ainsworth, Briton Julian Thew, Flying Dutchman and part time nightclub crooner Marcel Luske and Germany's Benjamin Kang.

Other Britons in the hunt include John Kabbaj, Andrew Feldman and Stuart Fox.

The money bubble has already burst with the remaining members of the field all taking home at least €7,000. The lucky eight who reach the final table will be guaranteed a payout of at least €77,000 with the winner claiming a €1m first prize.
