Howard Stern joins the Poker Players Alliance

Monday, 27 July 2009

The extremely popular and highly controversial American DJ and broadcaster Howard Stern is the latest big name to join the Poker Players Alliance. Stern, named as one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time magazine in 2006, has joined the campaign for better treatment of US poker players and the overturning of unconstitutional legislation.

As we reported earlier last week, the PPA is lobbying Washington for poker to be exempt from the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) license, for the regulation of internet poker in the U.S. and for respect to be shown for the rights of law-abiding Americans who love to play this great game of skill.

PPA chairman and former Senator of New York Alfonse D’Amato said “With Howard Stern as a member of the PPA, it shows Congress and the public that protecting Internet poker is about more than just poker - it’s about protecting Internet freedom and personal responsibility.”
