Yes, we’ve heard all about it on 'High Stakes Poker', or airings of the WSOP final tables, but now the poker pros have put their money where their swing is with the Inaugural Doyle Brunson and Dewey Tomko Golf Invitational.

Yes, we’ve heard all about it on 'High Stakes Poker', or airings of the WSOP final tables, but now the poker pros have put their money where their swing is with the Inaugural Doyle Brunson and Dewey Tomko Golf Invitational. Better still, the whole thing was recorded by ESPN!
The tournament itself was played a few months back, and included two events. The first was a three person scramble, with the teams playing for a $9m prize pool. The teams were:
Doyle Brunson, Dewey Tomko and Vince Van Pattan; Erick Lindgren, Daniel Negreanu and Josh Arieh; Russ Hamilton, Phil Hellmuth, and Bill Waters.
The same players were then added by Phil Ivey, David Oppenheim and others in a $250,000 buy-in best ball tournament in two-man teams.
Pre-tournament favourites were the team of Tomko, Brunson and Van Pattan, with Tomko and Brunson having been high-stakes golfers for some time. However the competitive nature of everyone involved plus the bragging rights involved would certainly make for a great competition.
So, can Phil Hellmuth dodge golf balls? I am sure we’ll find out very soon.
