High Stakes Poker to air on March 1st

Friday, 6 February 2009

A lot of poker players’ underpants were browned at the idea of fantastic televised cash game High Stakes Poker not airing. Strong rumours, including from co-presenter AJ Benza, that the show would not return for a fifth season.

Thankfully for everyone, it is. In case you’ve been living under a rock for the past few years, GSN’s High Stakes Poker is a televised high-stakes cash game with $300/$600 and an ante of $100. This season the minimum buy-in has been doubled to $200,000.

The line-ups for each day of filming have also been announced. Phil Laak, Doyle Brunson and Tom Dwan will play among the eight on the first day; Laak will return for Day 2 alongside Daniel Negreanu, Patrik Antonius, Joe Hachem, Howard Lederer and Antonio Esfandiari. On the final day Dwan returns alongside Dario Minieri, Barry Greenstein, Ziigmund, Brunson, Negreanu and David Benyamine.
