High Stakes Poker season 7 to begin February 26

Friday, 21 January 2011

The first episode of High Stakes Poker season 7 will be airing on the Game Show Network on February 26 with GSN no doubt uploading it to their YouTube channel shortly afterwards. Once again players will gather at the felt to compete for hundreds of thousands of dollars.

The biggest change of season seven is that Full Tilt sponsored players will no longer be allowed to participate on the PokerStars-sponsored show. This is a decision made by Full Tilt and will see HSP regulars Tom “durrrr” Dwan, Phil Ivey and Patrik Antonius unable to play.

So far, the players confirmed for the show are WSOP champion Jonathan Duhamel; veteran of TV poker Doyle Brunson; Phil Galfond; Phil Laak; Andrew Robl and PokerStars favourite Daniel Negreanu.

Last season saw Tom “durrrr” Dwan dominate the table for the second year in a row, including winning the then-largest televised pot of $919,000 against Barry Greenstein when he won a coinflip on the flop with Ks-Qs against aces.
