American cable television network GSN has announced that its High Stakes Poker programme will return for a fourth season next month.
Formerly known as the Game Show Network, GSN said that the line-up for High Stakes Poker IV would include professional players Phil Hellmuth, Doyle Brunson, Daniel Negreanu and Jamie Gold. In addition, the series will include Mike Matusow, Jennifer Harman, Barry Greenstein, Eli Elezra, Phil ‘The Unabomber’ Laak, Sammy Farha and Todd Brunson.
Starting on 27 August, the format of the show will see players put up at least $100,000 of their own money for a private game of No Limit Texas Hold 'Em. The show has increased from 13 to 17 episodes this season with the final seven seeing players battling it out for more than $5 million. These final episodes will also see the minimum buy-in raised, starting on 5 November, to $500,000.
These final episodes will feature Doyle Brunson, Jamie Gold, Daniel Negreanu, Sammy Farha, Antonio Esfandiari, Patrik Antonius, David Benyamine and Cirque De Soleil founder Guy Laliberte.
