With the first season finale set to air this weekend on GSN, High Stakes Poker has received a massive boost with the announcement that a second 16-episode series has been commissioned. The new season will follow the same format as this year’s show, with participants having to stump $100,000 of their own money to play and then take on some of the best players that the circuit has to offer. The first series has been a ratings smash, with viewers able to see the only cash games on TV, all the while getting some top advice and tips on how to handle their own bankroll when taking part in home games and tournaments. Doyle Brunson, Daniel Negreanu and Sam Farha have all signed up for a second bite of the cherry. Negreanu will be taking part in this week’s finale, looking to recoup some losses and beat off the challenge from Phil Hellmuth, Todd Brunson and LA Lakers owner Jerry Buss amongst others.
