It’s now only a matter of weeks until the second season of ‘High Stakes Poker’ airs on GSN. Having enjoyed an extremely successful first run in 2005, executives are hoping that the follow-up can pull in even more viewers. The run has been extended from 13 weeks to 16, with an expanded cast of pros taking to the felt, including some big names in the world of poker. Phil Laak, Michael Mizrachi and Erick Lindgren will all be joining the likes of Doyle Brunson and Phil Hellmuth to try and take Daniel Negreanu’s title. The show started filming immediately after season four of the WPT wrapped, this time at The Palms rather than the Golden Nugget. Seeing as the first season saw plenty of risky bets, uncontrolled outbursts and bad beats, it’s very likely that the second season will live up to expectations. The show airs on June 5 at 9pm.
