Wednesday, 7 April 2010

A host of big names have been added to the line up for next month's World Team Poker Championship. Phil Hellmuth and Doyle Brunson will lead the US team with Ben Roberts installed as the new England captain.

The hugely experienced Americans look the team to beat with a line up that's a veritable who's who of top poker talent from the past 20 years. Leading the way are Phil Hellmuth and Doyle Brunson who have a combined 21 WSOP bracelets between them. Joining the two veterans are Howard Lederer, Annie Duke, Chris Jesus Ferguson, Mike Matusow, Allen Cunningham, Jennifer Harman and Erik Seidel.

The England team has also been announced with Ben Roberts leading a line up that's as old school as Zammo from Grange Hill. Joining the 2010 Irish Open finalist will be veterans Dave 'Devilfish' Ulliott, Ram Vaswani, Joe Beevers, Surinder Sunar, Peter Costa and Dave Colclough (who was Welsh last time we looked). The token youngster is double WSOP finalist James Akenhead.

Other big names confirmed for the event that takes place at the Golden Nugget on 19th May include Tony G, Johnny Chan, David Chiu, Eli Elezra, Jeff Lisandro and Men Nguyen.
