Hassan Irfan wins Dusk Till Dawn Deepstack

Hassan Irfan wins Dusk Till Dawn Deepstack

Monday, 4 January 2010

Dusk Till Dawn’s opening Deepstack tournament of 2010 attracted a field of 227-runners over the weekend, creating an overlay of almost £12,000. That was of no concern to Hassan Irfan though who navigated his way through a final table that included Nii Carboo, David Lines, Vaidas Siriunas and Stephen Lockett to set up a heads up encounter with Andriena Nutt.

Nutt looked to be in prime position to take the title after being dealt aces heads up. Trying to induce some action she slow played the rockets and paid the penalty after Irfan hit a river flush. Irfan sealed the win soon after, winning a classic race with his KQ against Nutt’s pocket 8s. Irfan collected almost £25,000 for the win with Nutt taking over £14,000 for her runner up finish.

Sky Poker favourite Tony Kendall put up a good show in the £150 event finishing in fourth place. Matthew Miners eventually won the 144-runner tournament collecting a first prize of £7,542. Barry Neville was second with Andreas Kyprianou in third.

The final table positions from the £300 Deepstack were as follows:

1 Hassan Irfan £24,684
2 Andriena Nutt £14,431
3 Stephen Lockett £8,658
4 Vaidas Siriunas £6,076
5 David Lines £4,557
6 Nii Carboo £3,418
7 Bernard Gabriel £2,658
8 James Fuzzey £1,899
9 Anthony Kennedy £1,519
