Hasan Habib leads Epic Poker League Event #1 final table

Friday, 12 August 2011

The third day of the inaugural Epic Poker League event has concluded with just six players remaining out of 137 competitors. Each of these is now guaranteed $107,980 for their efforts but the first prize of a cool million dollars awaits the victor.

Hasan Habib leads the field with over 1.6m in chips but he has stiff competition at one of the toughest final tables we’ve ever seen with Huck Seed, Jason Mercier, Gavin Smith, Chino Rheem and Erik Seidel standing between Habib and an easy ride to first place.

On the way we lost yet more poker talent – Sam Trickett led the final 18 when Day 3 began but couldn’t get enough momentum to ride his chips to more than an 11th place finish. Justin Bonomo was the day’s first casualty followed by Hoyt Corkins, Matt Glantz and Eugene Katchalov to name but a few.

The final table begins tomorrow with the winner taking home not only the first ever Epic Poker League title but also $1,000,000 and yet more points for the Epic Poker League million dollar freeroll.
