Harrison Gimbel wins 2010 PCA Main Event

Tuesday, 12 January 2010

Harrison “gibler321” Gimbel has won the 2010 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure main event after beating a field of 1,529 players in order to get his hands on a whopping $2,200,000 first-place prize.

The 19-year-old Gimbel bested Ty Reiman heads-up to claim the top spot after a hard-fought final table where no one could have predicted the winner. It got off to a great start, too, with the largest pot of the tournament being played just six hands in as Gimbel’s AK won the flip against the JJ of Ryan D’Angelo to give him the chip lead.

Barry Shulman, 2009 WSOPE champion, put in a good performance to finish 3rd for his second million-dollar score in the last few months. Coupled with Jeff’s 5th place at the WSOP Main Event, the Shulman’s have had a good poker experience in the last six months or so.

The full list of final table placings and payouts is as follows:

1. Harrison Gimbel - $2,200,000
2. Ty Reiman - $1,750,000
3. Barry Shulman - $1,350,000
4. Benjamin Zamani - $1,000,000
5. Ryan D’Angelo - $700,000
6. Aage Ravn - $450,000
7. Zachary Goldberg - $300,000
8. Tom Koral - $201,300
