Harris Paroya leads World Series of Poker Circuit St. Louis

Monday, 11 April 2011

The field at the World Series of Poker Circuit St. Louis wound up with 449 entrants paying the $1,500 entry fee to create a prize pool of $646,762 with a six-figure first prize and a seat in the National Championship for the winner.

Harris Paroya is the man to catch heading into Day 2 as the 92 other surviving players look to overtake his 314,100 chip count. He's way ahead of even second-place Eli Loewenthal's 220,000 though so everyone has some work to do. Both players outlasted such notable names as T.J. Cloutier, Dwyte Pilgrim (who flew straight from Mohegan Sun after busting there) as well as both the Hinkle brothers.

It's not all bad for the big names though as plenty are back tonight for Day 2. Greg Raymer and Dennis Phillips both snuck their way into the top ten chip counts, the former on 133,000 in seventh place and the November Niner bagging up 197,600 good for fourth place.
