Hansen February’s big winner; Matt Hawrilenko makes comeback

Thursday, 3 March 2011

Gus Hansen continued his ridiculously good run that has seen him earn over $5.5m since October 2010 and was the largest winner in the nosebleed games on Full Tilt Poker in the past month. He earned a cool $2.4m playing CAP PLO, Limit Omaha 8 and the high stakes mixed games.

Speaking of fixed limit and high stakes mixed games, Matt Hawrilenko made a welcome return to the high stakes tables and got off to a roaring start with $1.7m more to his name than he had at the start of last month. Also in the winner’s circle was unsurprisingly Phil Ivey, making a little less than a million dollars despite playing less hands than anyone else.

The aptly-named fishosaurusREX was the massive loser for February. Rumoured to be Eugene Yanayt, the heads-up limit player lost over $2m – largely to Hawrilenko – mostly in the $2,000/$4,000 heads-up 2-7 Triple Draw games. Patrik Antonius, very much not a fishosaurus, also lost seven figures and was $1.1m for February.
