Gustavson leads heading into EPT London final table

Wednesday, 7 October 2009

All eyes will be on Peter Eastgate heading into the final table of EPT London today. The defending WSOP Main Event champion currently sits in second place behind massive chip leader American Aaron Gustavson.

Joining them at a very international looking final table are Norway’s Martin Gudvangen, Germany’s Nikolai Senninger, Taiwan’s Raymond Wu, Portugal’s Rui Milhomens and Frenchman Karim Bennani. The home challenge will come from Nottingham’s Dominic Cullen who starts the day in fifth place.

There was to be no fairytale finish for yesterday’s leader Michael Berry. The freeroll qualifier bowed out in 15th place and a cash of £19,000. Not bad for a few days work and a Daily Mirror freeroll. Joining him on the rail were Irish favourite Marty Smith in 10th, former WSOPE winner Annette Obrestad in 17th and 2009 November Nine finalist Kevin Schaffel in 19th. Vivek Rajkumar was the final table bubble boy, crippled after running his AK into Peter Eastgate’s pocket Aces. He was busted shortly afterwards, his KJ losing to Dominic Cullen’s AQ.

The chip counts when play resumes at noon tomorrow are as follows:

Aaron Gustavson: 7,140,000
Peter Eastgate: 3,535,000
Martin Gudvangen: 3,510,000
Nikolai Senninger: 2,165,000
Dominic Cullen: 2,115,000
Raymond Wu: 1,535,000
Rui Milhomens: 1,095,000
Karim Bennani: 845,000

The winner will take home £850,000 with the first player to bust out claiming £50,100.
