Gus Hansen joins Macau Big Game, up $2,000,000 HKD

Former Aussie Millions champion Gus Hansen may not return to Melbourne to defend his title if the action in Macau keeps going his way. After initially failing to get into the game, the Great Dane has been spotted at the table.

Joining the likes of Tom “durrrr” Dwan, John Juanda, Phil Ivey and Patrik Antonius, Hansen reportedly has around $6m HKD (roughly £500,000) on the table and is up approximately $2m HKD (£165,000) so far in the $10k/$20k No Limit game.

"So I did end up playing in the big game in Macau – I have just finished a 24 hour session with plenty of big hands. I am too tired to write about them now and will quickly head to bed – but tomorrow I will give a little taste of what happened :-)," Hansen wrote on his blog.

Also spotted in the game was Andrew Robl, though from the looks of things it is Phil Ivey and John Juanda who appear to be the biggest winners – at the very least, they boast the largest piles of orange $500k HKD plaques that we can see.
