Groupe Bernard Tapie and Department of Justice reportedly make deal

Wednesday, 2 November 2011

Subject: Poker has reported that Groupe Bernard Tapie and the US Department of Justice have agreed terms, allowing the acquisition of Full Tilt Poker to continue. Should Full Tilt shareholders agree, the deal will provide payment for players worldwide.

They report multiple sources informing them that an e-mail to shareholders was sent from Ray Bitar, stating that the DoJ will reimburse US players and settle civil litigation against Full Tilt Poker. He does, however, state that “time frame and process for repayment of players remain unclear at this point”.

Once this deal between GBT and the DoJ is complete, GBT would be able to make an offer to acquire Full Tilt Poker. Two-thirds of ownership must agree to this deal in a vote. Subject: Poker say that GBT will repay Full Tilt’s debt to non-US players and the Department of Justice will repay US players.
