Gregory Benac wins WPT National Series Paris Open of Poker

Monday, 26 March 2012

Apparently, Gregory Benac is a 15-year veteran of the Aviation Club de France. Despite that veteran status, last week's WPT National Series Paris Open of Poker event at the Aviation Club was only Benac's second live tournament but he didn't let that inexperience put him off.

The Parisian outlasted a field of 370 runners (including 44 re-entries) including a final table that included EPT London Side Event winner Shinya Shimada and 2009 WSOP Main Event third place finisher Antoine Saout to pocket a first prize of just over €100,000.

Gregory Benac – €100,070
Shinya Shimada – €66,845
Antoine Saout – €51,420
Jeremy Nock – €38,565
Franck Boyer – €30,870
Philippe Abdoul – €25,720
Antoine Valantin – €20,565
Yann Detychey – €15,425

The next WPT National Event takes place in Marbella, Spain from 20-24 April 2012. Qualify online at PartyPoker.
