The fourth largest poker tournament of all time is finally over, with Grant Hinkle winning his first ever World Series bracelet. A field of 3,929 players played over forty hours of poker to get down to the last man standing, with play on the final day seeing the last 18 come back and play until the champion had been crowned.

The smaller buy in $1,500 saw a huge field generate a first place prize of $831,279, but for one man, it wasn’t about the money. Chris ‘Jesus’ Ferguson was in firm contention to win his sixth bracelet. In the end, his 27th final table appearance fell a little short of the first place goal, as the Full Tilt pro ended up cashing in third place.

After over fifty hands of heads-up play between Grant Hinkle and Englishman James Akenhead, it came down to a classic race, with Hinkle’s pocket tens flopping a full house and turning quads against the AK of Akenhead.
