Friday, 27 November 2015

The worlds of football and poker will collide this weekend as the Grand Prix Poker Tour visit’s the 41,000-seat Stamford Bridge stadium in London.

The result of a partnership between partypoker and Dusk Till Dawn owner Rob Yong, the Grand Prix Poker Tour consists of a series of monthly main event tournaments each boasting a £250,000 ($383,200) guaranteed prizepool alongside buy-ins of just £70 ($107).

The past month has seen partypoker and Dusk Till Dawn host a series of qualifiers for the London event with the final of these set to take place online from 7pm this evening. The survivors will then head to the home of Chelsea FC tomorrow where they are to have their choice of three starting flights kicking off at 11am, 3pm and 6pm.

The second day of Stamford Bridge main event action will commence from the iconic ground at 11am on Sunday while there is also to be a two-day £1,100 ($1,656) buy-in high-roller tournament beginning from 6pm tonight at Aspers Casino Westfield Stratford City before concluding in Chelsea tomorrow from noon.

The first Grand Prix Poker Tour main event took place at Nottingham’s Dusk Till Dawn in October and saw Benjamin Preece turn his £70 buy-in into a cash prize of £35,000 ($52,692).
