Friday, 27 November 2015

The concluding Grand Final tournament of this year’s Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) began yesterday with its £400,000 ($601,711) guaranteed prizepool attracting many of the UK's top grinders to the Grosvenor Casino The Victoria London.

After nine levels of action in west London, the 127 starters have now been whittled down to 59 with Scotland's Fraser MacIntyre leading the way. The runner-up at the 2012 Madrid stop of the European Poker Tour (EPT) closed the first day of action with a stack of 136,100 chips, which puts him just ahead of Andrew Seden on 127,500 and Edmund Yeung holding 107,700.

Also in the running is Lithuanian Matas Cimbolas, who won the £3,000 ($4,512) buy-in no-limit hold‘em high-roller event at February’s Sky Poker UK Poker Championships in Nottingham for £60,000 ($90,257), with 106,000 chips while Robin Fisher and Adnan Chamaa are not far behind with 105,500 and 105,300.

Other notable competitors that secured their spots for the second day of Grand Final action included Simon Deadman, Ludovic Geilich, Barny Boatman and Leon Louis while railbirds can watch the chips fall live online from 1pm local time here.
