Graham Pound wins GUKPT Luton Summer Series Main Event

Over 50 players gathered for the £500 GUKPT Summer Series main event in Luton over the weekend with Graham Pound emerging victorious to earn a £8,740 pay day as well as a seat in the end of season Champion of Champions tournament. Pound saw off a strong challenge from Black Belt Poker's Gavin Hall, eventually sealing the win after hitting trip aces against Hall's 8-6.

Alex Burton won the £250 NL Hold'em side event, outlasting a field of 69 runners to take the first prize of £5,520. The £250 Pot Limit Omaha event was won by Chen Tam who picked up £2,600 for the win. 107 players gathered for the £150 NL Hold'em side event with Giuseppe Fontana beating Bharat Joshi to the £4,910 first prize.


As well as the cash, all event winners earn a seat in the GUKPT Champion of Champions event where £150,000 in prize money is up for grabs.


Players don't have long to wait for the next Summer Series events. The Walsall mini festival takes place at the Grosvenor Casino starting on Tuesday 22nd June and running until Sunday 27th June. It will feature a variety of Hold'em and PLO events with the main attraction being the £500 Main Event.


The Newcastle Summer Series event takes place at the G Casino from Thursday 24th to Sunday 27th June with five No Limit Hold'em events scheduled. The Main Event has a buy in of £300 and starts on Saturday 26th June.
