It wasn’t just Galway that was hosting a new Tour this weekend. The Casino at The Empire in London attracted a field of 257 players, including big names Praz Bansi and Willie Tann, for the debut event of the Paradise Series of Poker Tour.

In the end it was Georges Tohme who navigated his way through an internationally flavoured final table to claim the title and with it a first prize of £23,500. Tohme beat the Czech Republic’s Marek Viscak who took home £20,000 for his second place finish.

Bryan Carroll, marketing manager for ParadisePoker.com had nothing but praise for how the event unfolded, 'Player feedback has been great and everyone really liked the structure which we'd spent quite a long time perfecting. It was great to see the maximum number of players enter for the inaugural event which confirms our belief that there was a gap in the market for a low buy-in tournament with a great structure.’

The final table positions and payouts were as follows:

1. Georges Tohme £23,500
2. Marek Viscak £20,000
3. Andreas Georgeiou £18,000
4. Daniel Tafur £13,815
5. Andreas Kyprianou £8,325
6. Jayden Ravji £6,335
7. Johnny Jensen £4,810
8. Toni Merivuori £3,675
9. Sandiep Khosa £2,820

The Paradise Tour now heads to the Czech Republic for the Prague leg on the weekend of 27th and 28th February 2010.
