Poker players in the capital got the chance to show their charitable side last night as the Genting Poker Big Game hit the Fox Poker Club. Half of all registration fees from the £1000+£80 buy-in tournament were donated to Great Ormond Street Hospital with players also providing a selection of gifts for patients at the famous children's hospital.

A top notch field of 43 runners was on hand and after a marathon session it was Lee Taylor who took the honours as the clock ticked past 8am. Taylor, who won the £500 event at last month's GUKPT festival in Blackpool, agreed a chop with Genting pro Daiva Baruskaite that saw the pair both walk away £14,000 to the good before playing on for Daiva's £1k bounty and the title.

Victor Ilyukhin's hot streak continued with another deep run to add to his third place score at the recent GUKPT Grand Final. Hendon Mobster Barny Boatman was fourth with Ergun Macit rounding out the in the money finishers.

1 Lee Taylor £14,000
2 Daiva Baruskaite £14,000
3 Victor Ilyukhin £6,900.
4 Barny Boatman £4,750
5 Ergun Macit £3,000

Attention now turns to the massive £1,500+£100 Genting Poker Series Grand Final. The first of two opening flights starts at 1pm on Thursday with the second following at the same time on Friday. A guaranteed prize pool of £200,000 will be won. There's still time to bag a seat on the cheap, with £200 satellites taking place at the Fox Poker Club tonight and tomorrow at 7pm.
