L'Honore and Boatman headline Genting final 16

Sunday, 5 February 2012

Just 16 players are still in the hunt for the £31k top prize at the first ever Genting Poker Series event in Birmingham. David L'Honore holds the chip lead going into the final day with a stack of 1,471,000 but most eyes will be on the man who lies in second place.

Barny Boatman enjoyed a fine end to 2011 with deep runs at the WSOPE Main Event and at EPT London. The Hendon Mobster has carried that good form into the new year and currently lies in second place at Star City with 1,143,000 chips.

Others still in contention include George Clyde-Smith, David Tighe and Martin Donoghue but Barny's friends from Hendon just missed out. Brother Ross made the money in 27th with Joe Beevers the last man eliminated on Saturday in 17th.

The final 16 are guaranteed at least £1,605 with those making the final table taking home a minimum of £2,045. The eventual winner will pocket £31,980 plus a seat in the Genting Poker Series Grand Final worth £1,600.

See whether Barny can seal the deal from 1pm today via the Genting Live Stream.
