Genting granted licence for NEC Casino

Tuesday, 28 June 2011

A massive casino and leisure complex at the NEC in Birmingham is one step closer after a decision by Solihull Council to grant a premises licence to Genting Casinos.

Councillor Andy Mackiewicz said, “Members of the Licensing Committee considered this application very carefully. [They] were fully satisfied that in granting this licence, many benefits and opportunities will be made available to the borough of Solihull and its residents."

In addition to the casino the 55,000 square metre complex would also include a hotel, spa, cinema, conference and banqueting facilities as well as designer shopping outlets and could create over 1,000 jobs.
