Genting Poker charity tournament tonight

Tuesday, 1 November 2011

Genting Poker will be hosting its second charity tournament of 2011 later tonight with a seat in the Palm Beach Big Game worth £1,000 on offer to the winner. The site hosted a special tournament earlier this year which raised £1,630 for St Mary's Hospice in Birmingham.

Tonight's tournament will raise funds for friend of Genting Poker Bob Clements. A statement from Genting Poker said, “Earlier this year, Bob decided he no longer wanted to go through the operations and the pain ... and was going to focus his energies on raising money for St. Mary’s Hospice, Birmingham, the place that looks after him and other people with terminal illnesses. Since his decision he has managed to raise more then £10,000 for his charity.”

“Since Bob decided to focus on fund raising, his condition has deteriorate and he requires more and more help around home. This has led to his home requiring some modifications for him to be able to stay with his family. Their personal savings and grants from charities such as McMillan have helped towards the cost of this but they are still £3.5k short and we would like to ask you, to help us, help this extraordinary man.”

All funds raised will go to Bob's required modifications with any excess going to St Mary's Hospice.

The £10 NL tournament is called Robert's Wish 2 and starts at 8pm.
