After a midsummer hiatus it's back to business with the Genting Poker Series this weekend with a guaranteed prize pool of £100,000 up for grabs in Southend-on-Sea.
The fourth leg of the series got under way online on Monday with three of the 16 players safely making it through to Saturday's day two. A bumper crowd is expected for the life portion of the £400+£40 event with opening day flights 1B and 1C starting at 1pm today and Friday. Stacks start at 25,000 with a one hour clock. Players will no doubt be hoping to follow in the stellar footsteps of Julian Thew, Ellie Biessek and Mudassar Hussain who won the opening three legs of the 2013 series. As usual, the Genting Poker Series offers plenty of side action so even if you've missed out on the Main Event there should be something to tickle your fancy (and bankroll). The complete schedule is available at GPS Schedule. And if you are heading to Essex over the next few days, be sure to check out our guide to Southend-on-Sea and find out where to eat, drink and be merry.
