One of the best poker venues in London is under new ownership after Genting Poker's acquisition of the Fox Poker Club for an undisclosed sum.

The Shaftesbury Avenue venue has attracted over 20,000 members since it opened in late 2010 and is currently experiencing record week-on-week trading.

Chris North, Managing Director of Fox Poker Club, said, “It was always a dream of mine to open a poker club in London and although it’s been a real challenge, with delayed openings and not getting our 24 hour licence until July this year, I’m extremely proud of what we’ve achieved. The club is in a great position to continue growing and we are very pleased that it is passing to such good hands. We wish the club and Genting all the success in the future.”

Ian Hogg, Chairman of Fox Poker Club, added, “We always knew there was a market for a poker club in the heart of London and it’s been a wonderful project to have been involved in. I’m immensely satisfied to see the Fox Poker Club develop into one of London’s best venues and I’ll be back to play games on a regular basis.”

It has been a busy few days for Genting which yesterday announced details of a new seven stop tournament series featuring six live and one online event and a prize pool of £800,000.
