A total of 454 players have entered this year's North American Poker Championship at Niagra Falls, generating a prize pool of CAD $4.37 million. With 45 due to get paid, Canadian pro Gavin Smith leads the way at the end of Day 2.

Of the three Day 1 tiers, 275 players returned to play down to the final 99. It was a short day's work in Canada though, as those eliminations took just five levels to come about. When play resumes today, players will have to make it to the final 45 for a payday.
The top ten overnight chip leaders make for a promising Day Three. With Smith, Matros, Rajkumar and Liebert all having had WPT final table experience, there's a good chance for a heavyweight climax at this event too.

1. Gavin Smith - 405,900
2. Matt Matros - 383,800
3. Vivek "psyduck" Rajkumar - 342,100
4. Ryan "eatschips" Fisler - 327,500
5. Robert Cheung - 316,100
6. Mark Zajdner - 312,400
7. Kathy Liebert - 298,300
8. Jeremy Joseph - 292,000
9. Brian "SNoOoWMAN" Hawkins - 287,300
10. Xuan "x2then" Nguyen - 277,600
