Gary Lentin scoops WPT National Mauritius title

The World Poker Tour has certainly been living up to the World part of its name, following last month's visit to Denmark with a stop in Mauritius.

Plenty of top names were on hand on the African island including Guillaume Darcourt, Raymond Rahme, John Eames and famous French rapper Bruno Lopes aka Kool Shen who recently took down the European Poker Championship at the Aviation Club. None of them could match Gary Lentin though.

The South African pocketed a first prize of €70,000 after outlasting a final table that included Frenchmen Stephane Albertini and Fabrice Ricci and Portugal's Ayaz Manji.

“I’m so impressed with the work of all the organisation to set up such an incredible tournament in Mauritius. Everyone worked so hard to make it a success and I could not be happier to bring the title home to South Africa. The next great thing would be to host a WPT National event in South Africa,” said Lentin.

The next WPT National event will be held from March 17th – 24th at the world famous Aviation Club de France, with the € 1500 main event presented by PartyPoker.fr. It will also be the launch of the ACFPoker Tour, a series of €750 side events fully integrated to the festival of WPT National Series France.
