A man from Bristol has been given a suspended jail term after pleading guilty to a number of disturbances, one of which involved attacking a man playing strip poker with his girlfriend.

When another man tried to intervene in the scuffle, Parker brandished a spanner and hit the unfortunate interloper causing a 3cm head wound that required eight staples.

According to the Bristol Evening Post, Parker later saw Lambert in the street, accused him of being a grass and hit him.

Parker pleaded guilty to one count of actual bodily harm and three counts of affray. The 21-year-old was given a 48-week prison sentence, suspended for 18 months. He was also ordered to do 200 hours of unpaid work as well as being forced to pay £450 compensation and £250 costs.
