A man from Bristol has been given a suspended jail term after pleading guilty to a number of disturbances, one of which involved attacking a man playing strip poker with his girlfriend.

Shane Parker took umbrage with Connor Lambert who was playing the game with his girlfriend in a Bristol pub. Parker pulled Lambert from his chair and along with another man started attacking him. When another man tried to intervene in the scuffle, Parker brandished a spanner and hit the unfortunate interloper causing a 3cm head wound that required eight staples.
