Galen Hall leads WPT Championship final 15

Wednesday, 18 May 2011

Unfortunately for us Brits Dave Ulliott, Sam Trickett and Roberto Romanello were all eliminated during Day 4 of the World Poker Tour $25,000 Championship event. We are down to just 15 players now and reigning PCA champion Galen Hall is leading the way.

Hall has 3,438,000; more than double the average chip stack and good enough for a hefty chip lead over WPT Amneville champion and second-place in the counts Sam El Sayed, who built up to 2,774,000 by the end of Day 4. At the bottom of the pile is current WPT champion David Williams, looking to make back-to-back final tables but with some work to do holding only 15 big blinds.

Between the top and bottom of the counts is still a host of tournament and high stakes talent – Scott Seiver, Shannon Shorr, Steven Kelly and Ashton Griffin all return today with above-average chips; Nenad Medic, Justin Young, Daniel Alaei and David Peters join Williams towards the bottom of the pack. Currently, each player has locked up $53,095 for their efforts but those who make the six-handed final table will be guaranteed $225,654 with a first prize of over $1.6m.
